Tina Cafeo, DNP, RN, CENP
Tina Cafeo is the Vice President, Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at UPMC Mercy. She has had progressive leadership opportunities in Baltimore, Maryland, at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and University of Maryland Medical Center, where she most recently was the Vice President of Patient Care Services and Associate Chief Nursing Officer. Dr. Cafeo is a member of the University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute board and the Executive Committee of the board.
Dr. Cafeo continues to strive to improve the patient/family experience, team member engagement, and quality and safety. She has published and presented on patient safety, high reliability in healthcare, teamwork and communication/professionalism, and workplace violence prevention. She is adjunct faculty at the University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) and taught the NDNP practice leadership course and practicum.
Dr. Cafeo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at the Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Science degree and a Business of Nursing certificate at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at UMSON. She was inducted into the Beta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL) and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). She was selected as the Nursing Excellence GEM award winner for “Advancing and Leading the Profession” for the Maryland-DC-Virginia region from Nurse.com.
