UPMC Horizon, UPMC Jameson

John Davis has served as the Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services at UPMC Horizon and UPMC Jameson since October 2021.

Dr. Davis brings more than 10 years of nursing leadership experience throughout the Cleveland Clinic Health System and most recently Ohio Health – Riverside Methodist Hospital.

In his leadership roles, Dr. Davis opened a closed medical model unit, implemented an LPN nursing model, initiated a Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, assisted in development of and operationalized a Diverse Nurse Pipeline to sponsor nurses of color for potential leadership positions, functioned as director liaison and sponsor to a system cross campus critical care committee, and assisted in development of and led the implementation of surge expansion and staffing in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. He has also had success in increasing employee satisfaction and engagement and decreasing nursing turnover.

Dr. Davis received his DNP from the University of Akron, MSN from the University of Cincinnati, and BSN from Kent State University.  He is board certified as a nurse executive (NE- BC) and as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC).  John is a member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership.
