As chief nurse executive for one of the largest health systems in the nation, I am honored to present UPMC Nursing Highlights: The Frontline Makes a Difference, which showcases the extraordinary contributions of our talented and dedicated nurses and health care teams.
Our nurses are at the heart of countless meaningful moments that embody the UPMC Experience. The UPMC Experience is empathy in action: It represents the experience of our employees and our patients. At UPMC, we foster outstanding nursing practice and develop great leaders, who support and engage incredible healthcare teams, who provide exceptional care and outstanding experiences for our patients.
Our nurses are the expert at the bedside delivering skilled, compassionate care in all our settings. Our UPMC nurses bring excellence in nursing care in all settings across the continuum — hospitals, senior communities, nursing faculty, nursing education, home healthcare and hospice, insurance services division, outpatient offices, care management and numerous other clinical specialties. Nurses are educators and mentors to the next generation of nurses.
I am excited about the impactful initiatives we have put in place in recent months to support our nursing workforce. Our investment is in our dedicated health care providers, and we will continue to build on these programs to support nurses personally and professionally. UPMC Nursing Highlights: The Frontline Makes a Difference shines a light on many of these initiatives, that were put in place to support our frontline staff and leaders, and drive the continued, collective success in building the UPMC Experience we want for all our employees and our patients.
I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished and look forward to continuing to advance nursing practice and our practice environments. I invite you to learn more about the passion, commitment, and talent of our UPMC nurses and the impact they make
